A Stance Variation
It would not be an understatement to say that in boxing even minor adjustments can lead to significant changes. For example, I was watching someone explaining to subtle differences between the shoulder positions of two different boxing stances. The one stance featured the lead are being pulled inwards significantly. The reason for this was to create a body alignment that would allowed the rear hand the ability to launch a very powerful cross. However, this particular stance dramatically reduces the lead hands ability to deliver a decent hook. This is because the lead and shoulder would have to reload significantly in order to deliver a decent hook. This would be a significant instance of telegraphing. So, you consider the whole thing gaining a cross while losing a hook. Is the trade off worth it? Well, it all depends on the strengths of the particular fighter. The
