Words on Dirty Boxing
Is it okay to perform “dirty boxing” techniques?
In the ring, the answer is assuredly no. In training, you likely do not want to use any such moves on your training partners. All of this is pretty much basic common sense. However, it would never be a bad idea to learn a few dirty boxing techniques for self-defense. Of course, you would always want your dirty boxing to be well within the legal limits of appropriate force. If it isn’t then you are not defending yourself. You would either be fighting or committing an assault. Both of these, by the way, are crime. Certainly, you do not want to find yourself in legal hot water so sticking within the letter of the law is a must whenever you have to defend yourself.
That said, when things do get ugly it would not hurt to have access to techniques or skills which could prove helpful to your well-being. Well primed dirty boxing techniques may very well be able to deliver on such expectations which is why they are well worth learning.
