Rather than suffer through the process by opening yourself up to attacks by trying execute every technique you know, you are better served covering and using the jab defensively. While this is certainly not the best approach to take when sparring in terms of demonstrating a flashy offense, it is a reliable method which can prevent you from being open to your opponent's offense.
