Explaining Pauses

In a follow up to the prior post about pausing between punches and movement, I wanted to make mention (in detail) why pauses are such a detriment to one's game. While it is true that they slow down the ability to deliver the punch, it is always possible to still land with the punch. This is true, I won't deny it. However, this may work against a less experienced opponent, but against an opponent who knows what time it it (as the saying go)you will get guzzled. (Eaten alive)

Basically, those pauses essentially explain to a knowledgeable when offensive maneuvers are coming as well as when no offensive action is being taken. This essentially eradicates and attempt at seriously delivering a offensive or defensive game. Movement, offense, defense, etc...All of them, they need to go together. There needs to be a fluidity present in the game. When that fluidity is eradicated and is replaced by a number of emphatic pauses...then you are pretty much shot.

Develop fluidity. Try it in your shadow boxing. Develop it in front of a mirror. Work at it. Do something, folks!
