Self Defense and Dealing With Aggression
When it comes to the subject of self-defense, there is so much confusion present mainly because simple definitions of aggression have not been put forth. Aggression is usually bullying or, worse, attempts at violent criminal intent to do harm. Much of this is going to based on forward motion. That is, when you are threatened by an aggressor, they will not be moving fluidly like a boxer/kickboxer nor with they be stand in a karate/kung fu martial arts stance. What they will be doing in coming straight at you stepping forward aggressively. This could come in the form of lunging their whole body weight behind you while trying to deliver a rear overhand to your head or simply "getting in your face". Either way, there will be no angulated footwork or any finesse. Actually, by boxing standards the way in which they move will be technically flawed to the extreme. However, the anger and malicious intent combined with mass and size can more than make up for the flaws.
