Angles and Offense and Defense

One of the more important areas of boxing, kickboxing, and MMA striking would be moving on angles. Probably the worst mistake that a beginner (or even those that have been around long enough to know better) will make is always coming in on a straight line. Doing so really is not the right way to go about sparring because you make yourself too much of an easy target. Really, how tough is it to hit someone that is walking straight into a punch. Also, when you fire your offense straight up the middle you are presenting offense that is really easy to counter. Again, because the offense is coming so easily up the middle, it is not all that tough to see or counter. This is why your movement should entail cutting angles and moving in such a way your offense and defense becomes less predictable and your lines of attack becoming harder for your opponent to defend against.
