Side on Triangulated Movement

Well...side note is not the most accurate description because the idea of moving someone off their "triangle" is fairly complex and important. I am using the term sidenote here because I am only going to briefly touch on this complicated subject.

Basically, if teo opponents have very strong footwork and are moving and hitting at angles, then one of the fighters is going to need to off balance the opponent. That is, they will try to knock each other off their triangle and disrupt the balance and angles of attack. Of course, this is not easy because one must have excellent footwork combined with the ability to disrupt the opponent's equally excellent footwork. Then, the match becomes a living, animated version of playing chess. Interesting, eh?
