Sprinting Really DOES work
Yes, I am an individual who practices what he preaches...sometimes. In a previous post, I mentioned that it was important to undertake a supplementary program to help increase cardio conditioning in order to improve performance. That program included a great deal of SPRINTING. Or, to be more specific, wind sprinting.
Now, there are a number of reasons for sprinting/running and most people do so in order to burn calories, stored fat or carbs. This is fine, but if you are looking to increase your cardio ENDURANCE, then you may need a modified program.
Part of the reason that people have a hard time working on supplementary training is the fact that they have limited time to spend on their hobby so they actually spend their free time in the gym boxing. As such, they don't have a half hour to dedicate to sprinting. Well, here is the good news. You do not need to spend a great deal of time. All you need is ten minutes and most of that will be spent with warm ups and cool downs. In other words, a few sprints at a really fast pace will do a great deal of good. It will improve performance and reduce injuries or accidents resulting from faitgue.
