A Little At A Time
When it comes to cross-training, there is a bit of a tendency on people's part to take on far too many styles/courses than can be effectively studied. In other words, the person spreads himself or herself too thin and ends up never really learning anything of substance, but rather 'sees' bits and pieces of an entire art.
Does that even remotely sound like a good training module?
Clearly it is not! While it is great to crosstrain in order to become a well rounded and talented martial artist, this will be of no use if such a training paradigm leads to undermining the very goals that are being sought.
It is smart to be well rounded and to cross train, but such a training paradigm must be employed within reason.
