Instructionals - Can You Really Learn From Them?

In a way, whether or not you can learn from instructionals is a silly question to ask on the surface. After all, if there were no value in these dvds, then how could they continue to sell? Th answer is, of course, that if dvd and vhs instructionals did not help people learn, then people would have stopped buying them a long time ago. Oh, and bythe way, that is EXACTLY what happened to a number of instructional companies that were not producing a product that people were able to benefit. (ie...they put out a bunch of instructionals that were AWFUL)

The companies that have put out a good product have thrived (although, granted, business has been up and down over the years for many companies)because people received benefit from the product.

When people say you can't learn from instructional dvds or books what they really mean to say is you can;t learn from books or dvds alone without training. Somehow, they apply this logic to someone who is already training and learning by inferring that their skill won't increase if they add reviewing reference material to their training. Now, does that not sound like a DUMB notion or what?
