Fighting Measure

One of the least appreciated concepts in boxing or kickboxing or MMA is the notion of "fighting measure." For those not familiar with what this refers to it simply means getting out of the impact zone of a fighter after you launch an offensive attack. In other words, after you hit someone with a combination you need to step back (maybe 6 inches) so that a retaliation attack will not reach you. Now, some may disagree with this notion and if your goal is to keep pressing forward then this would not apply. But, if you are not looking to maximize pressing forward then paying attention to your specific fighting measure may prove to be the proper option.
