Boxing and Self Control
One aspect to boxing (or any martial art) that is often mentioned is the way it can develop self-discipline. Yes, this is so oft repeated that it has become a near cliché. (Ok, “near” does not began to describe how much of a cliché it has become) However, it is a fairly true statement.
Self-discipline on the most basic of level means good manners and watching your mouth. Now, some may wonder how boxing can develop such a positive mental attitude. When you look at a serious boxing session, you will discover why this is so. Most people will be concentrating on their lessons and soaking thing in. Good students will not run off and do their own thing. They will pay attention to their trainer. In short, they will keep their impulses in check and display enough self-control that they will reap positive rewards from their training session. This is one of the ways to develop self-discipline and it will carry over into other aspects of life. (Hopefully)
