Mark Hatmaker's Illegal Boxing

You have to give Mark Hatmaker a lot of thanks. He has released a DVD set on Dirty Boxing that is well worth watching for those who have a love for the self-defense aspects of boxing. Many of the techniques presented on the DVD have been made illegal under boxing rules, but they can still be effective. Virtually all these techniques are simple in concept and do not require any suspension of disbelief. Hatmaker displays hammer fists, backhands, headbutts, elbows, and a variety of other not so kind boxing drills. In some instances, Hatmake displays these techniques within the context of cheating in a boxing bout. I am not a huge fan of this way of displaying them because you shouldn’t be cheating in a boxing bout and it if you are using the techniques for self-defense you do not need to hide anything from a ref. But, this is a minor point as most people already realize this. The DVD set is very well structured and filled with a health of information. If you are a fan of Hatmaker’s excellent boxing books, this DVD will make a fine addition to your collection…
